Money Mirror FAQ

Q: Can I upgrade my version of Money Mirror and still keep my data?

A: Yes -- the Money Mirror application is itself independent of the actual datafiles. The account datafiles reside in PocketC database space though, so do not delete PocketC or you will delete your accounting data!

You can safely upgrade to a new version of PocketC any time, but do not delete PocketC before upgrading. A simple upgrade will leave all your databases as they were before.

Q: How can I back up my accounting data?

Since version of Money Mirror (.95) the backup bit has been set on the databases whenever you make a change (log a transaction) to an account. The accounts will be backed up on the next HotSync. An alternative is to use the "Report" function to export CSV text into a Memo, and import a file with its contents into a spreadsheet program like Excel. There are also programs out there that will let you turn on or off the backup bit for anything on your PalmOS device -- try PalmGear.

Q:
> Hi - I saw you have a Palm Pilot program called Money Mirror; can it be used
> to capture data on payments (and possibly receipts) which can then be
> uploaded to the PC for synchronization with MS Money 99 or Quicken ?

A: Money Mirror will let you capture payments and/or receipts, and let you
export your data to a CSV file. As long as the desktop application you want
can import CSV, it should be fine.

I do not personally have copies of MS Money or Quicken so I'm not sure of
the required format of the CSV files (or even if they're supported). If anyone
has information on the format of these files handy, or how best to export for
this applications, please let me know.

Q: Does the Money mirror .96 have the capibilty to notify me of when a
payment is due? and also can all of the payments be on one page?

A: No, sorry, Money Mirror does not do any automatic notifications or transactions.
